A Macon man died in a two-vehicle accident in south Bibb County Tuesday morning.
Cody Lee Thigpen, 30, was killed when his Mitsubishi Mirage collided with a Chevrolet Suburban about 10:20 a.m., authorities said.
Carol Ward-Braswell, 42, of Macon was making a left turn from Sardis Church Road to the Interstate 75 north on-ramp when Thigpen’s eastbound car hit hers, authorities said. The collision caused the Chevrolet and the Mitsubishi to spin around.
Thigpen died at the scene, Coroner Leon Jones said. Ward-Braswell and a passenger were not badly injured, authorities said.

Witnesses told deputies that Ward-Braswell had the green turn signal at the time of the accident.
Southbound interstate traffic exiting at Sardis Church Road was forced to turn left, as authorities would not let drivers turn right. The northbound exit was completely blocked. Sardis Church Road reopened about 12:30 p.m.
