The 30-year-old Macon man who died after a Sunday nightclub fight approached another man at the club in a “negative manner,” according to a Macon police report released Tuesday.
One of two men identified in the report as a suspect told police he notified security crews at Whiskey River multiple times that Gary Mimbs had approached him with a few male friends “in a negative manner,” according to the report. A call to Whiskey River, located in the 4500 block of Pio Nono Avenue, was not answered Tuesday.
Mimbs died at The Medical Center of Central Georgia about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after being placed on life support, according to police.
Police Chief Mike Burns said it appears as though Mimbs died as a result of his injuries. Officers have received several calls from the community in regard to the case, he said.
No arrests have been made.
