Failing brakes caused a logging truck to collide with a Jones County sheriff’s patrol car Tuesday morning, Gray police officials said.
Gray Police Chief Adam Lowe said the tractor-trailer’s brakes failed about 10:30 a.m. as the vehicle came down a hill at the intersection of Ga. 11 and Ga. 18. It went through a red light as the patrol car, driven by Sgt. Robbie Walker, went through the intersection. There were no major injuries, and no charges were filed, Lowe said.
