A Macon woman died Thursday afternoon in a single-car wreck on Interstate 16, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.
Jones said the woman, Margie Hogan Farley, 61, of Travis Boulevard, was driving near the Spring Street exit where the interstate splits when she lost control of her 1997 GMC Jimmy about 4:26 p.m. Jones said the vehicle flipped over, and she was thrown out.
Farley was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she was pronounced dead 30 minutes later, the coroner said.
Jones said the wreck was an accident and that no alcohol or drugs are suspected. The Macon Police Department and Georgia State Patrol are investigating the accident.
