Macon police car hit while transporting prisoners to jail

A Macon police car was struck from behind Sunday while taking two men to the Bibb County jail. According to a release, officer Lorenzo Wallace was driving two men to the jail about 4:10 p.m. While stopped at the intersection at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Pine Street, the patrol car was struck from behind by a 2000 Toyota Tundra driven by Clement Nwasu of Macon.

Michael Hill, 22, and Jovan Sanford, 33, who were both charged with marijuana possession, and Wallace were all taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. All three were later released from the hospital. No charges were filed against Nwasu.
