Police: Teenager shot in Dodge County fight

A fight between a 48-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy led to a gunshot wound for the teenager, according to a news release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. Friday at a hunting club off the Ocmulgee Church Road near Eastman, according to the release. Dylan Williams was shot in the right leg by a .22-caliber rifle.

Alan Bennett Peacock was charged with aggravated assault by sheriff’s investigators and booked into the Dodge County jail. Williams was taken to the Dodge County Hospital for treatment. On Saturday, a hospital employee said Williams had been released.

Alcohol and prescription drugs were involved in the incident and more charges might ensue, according to the release.
