A broken water line left residents of Macon Garden Apartments on Mercer University Drive with no water and limited vehicle access for part of the day Tuesday.
A water pipe had to be replaced and water service was expected to be restored by the evening, said Valerie Breneman, property manager. The water leak was partly under a paved area, which required digging up some of the access road.
There are 132 units in Macon Garden Apartments, Breneman said.
Darryl Macy, water conveyance director for the Macon Water Authority, said the break occurred behind the meter on the apartment’s private line, not in the authority’s pipe.
