A man was fatally struck by a vehicle late Saturday near the intersection of Emery Highway and Short Street.
By Sunday night, Macon police investigators had not identified the man, who was white and appeared to be in his early 50s.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the incident happened about 11 p.m. The man was pronounced dead at 11:49 p.m. in the emergency room of The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Jones said the cause of death was “multiple blunt force trauma.”
Macon police spokesman Sgt. Zac Self said it was not a hit-and-run case and the driver of the car was not injured. Self had no more details because the incident was still under investigation.
