Macon police arrest two on weapons, drugs charges

Macon police arrested two teenagers for marijuana possession with intent to distribute and related gun charges Tuesday afternoon, a police report stated.

According to the report, police arrested Keonta Marquis Ray, 17, of Leone Drive North, and a 15-year-old male of Leone Drive North. In addition to the marijuana charge, both were charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and the youth also was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor.

The report said police were patrolling an area in which several burglaries occurred in the Bloomfield area on Deeb Drive when they spotted the two teens.

While completing field interrogation cards, the officer asked if either was carrying weapons or drugs, and they said no. The officer asked for permission to search them and found a .38-caliber pistol on Ray. He immediately cuffed Ray and searched the other teen, finding a .32-caliber gun. The officer then found eight small bags of marijuana on Ray and seven on the youth. Ray was taken to the Bibb County jail, and the youth was taken to the YDC.
