Project Unity is sponsoring a neighborhood cleanup today from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Village Green.
The event is the second phase of an effort by Project Unity to improve public safety and quality of life in the area, according to a news release.
Volunteers will pick up debris, mow overgrown lots, board up houses deemed hazardous to public safety and demolish two condemned houses.
Volunteers will gather at Burghard Elementary School at 7:30 a.m. and spread out in teams. Lunch will be served at noon at Village Green Park.
