A 62-year-old man was shot to death Thursday in Cordele, according to a Cordele Police Department news release.Police were called to the area of 10th Street and 17th Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday and found Walter Brown Bell lying at the northeast corner of the intersection, according to the release.The investigation revealed Bell walked to a store at 502 16th Avenue W. to buy adult beverages. As he walked through the 400 block of 16 1/2 Alley, he was attacked. An argument ensued and he was shot, according to the release.Bell then walked across the street and fell at the intersection of 17th Avenue. He was taken to Crisp Regional Hospital and died a short time later, according to police.Maraquarius Greene, 17, of Juniper Street, was charged with murder Friday in connection with Bell’s death, according to the release.
