Police clear Bibb courthouse after bomb threat

A bomb threat was called in to the Bibb County Courthouse at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Macon 911 center.The courthouse was evacuated at about 9:20 a.m. and police began blocking traffic on nearby Second and Mulberry streets. Macon police Sgt. Wilton Collins said the threat was called in to the Bibb County Superior Court. Collins said emergency crews searched the courthouse floor by floor, but didn’t find anything out of the ordinary. The courthouse was reopened at about 10:20 a.m.
