Men caught on roof of Macon pawn shop charged with burglary

Macon police arrested two people on the roof of a Mercer University Drive pawn shop early Wednesday morning.

Officer Gregory Ussery heard the burglar alarm at Macon Gun and Pawn, 3338 Mercer University Drive, at about 3:30 a.m. and found one person part of the way inside the business and another person on the roof, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

“One guy was partially hanging from the ceiling,” Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said.

Police arrested 20-year-old Joshua Demarco Scott and a 16-year-old whose name was withheld. Both were charged with burglary.
