A graduation ceremony was held Friday for youths participating in the 2009 Bibb County Summer Life Series Camp at Southside Community Church, 4162 Roy Ave.

More than 25 students participated in the free summer camp that offered life-skills and character building workshops, as well as career and education planning and mediation training.

“It’s a great opportunity for youth ages 12 to 17 to improve their work ethic, communication and decision-making skills”, said Frank Mack, executive director of the Family Counseling Center and vice president of J.U.S.T. Children of Macon Inc.

The three-week camp was held at Southside Community Church in Lynmore Estates.

It was funded through sponsors including United Way of Central Georgia, the Peyton Anderson Foundation, J.U.S.T. Children of Macon Inc., Bibb County Juvenile Court, the Department of Juvenile Justice, Southside Community Church, Family Counseling Center and Community Partnership Inc.
