The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2009 Macon Discovery Challenge on Sunday during the Macon Symphony Orchestra Porter Picnic Pops concert at Wesleyan College.
The Chamber held its second annual The Macon, Discover It scavenger hunt that asked teams to find objects or places in Macon and submit photos of those places or items, as a means to familiarize residents with all Macon has to offer. The grand-prize-winning team, Two Sophomores and a Freshman won $1,000. The fastest team was Davis Family Rides Again; the team with the most spirit was Jumping Beings; the most creative team name was JAMS Session and the largest team was LOGIC ministry. Each winning team won $250, chamber Vice-President Audrey Connelly said.
“It was great we had 19 teams participate,” Connelly said of about 180 people making up the teams.
