With the kind of weather we’ve been having lately, Johnny Wingers isn’t taking any chances. The Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency director is conducting a special tornado siren test this morning at 11 a.m.
The sirens are susceptible to lightning strikes that can disable the warning devices.
“I’ve got to know if we’ve gotten any damage from these lightning strikes,” Wingers said. “I’ve got to know these sirens are working.”
Siren monitors are asked to be in place this morning for the test and report back to the EMA.
