Commission approves funds for library, salary study firm

The Bibb County Commission on Tuesday approved $454,000 to be used for repairs and renovations for all three floors of the Washington Memorial Library.

Leftover money from a bank-qualified loan taken out for construction of the Charles A. Lanford, M.D. Library will be used for the renovations, which include carpeting, painting and lighting.

The commission also approved $38,600 for The Archer Co., based in South Carolina, to complete the county’s ongoing salary and compensation study.

Bibb is working on an overhaul of its employee pay plan to try to ensure job and pay equity as well as stay competitive in the market.
