The Macon Little League ball park is one step closer to being fixed.
The Bibb County Commission on Tuesday authorized Sam Kitchens, director of buildings and properties, to move forward with repairs to the Little League park on Anthony Road. The ballpark was damaged in last year’s Mother’s Day storm.
Kitchens is to order materials and use prison labor when possible to make the repairs in an amount not to exceed $40,000.
Estimates for repairs that Kitchens presented earlier in the meeting came in around $85,000. Commissioners hope that using prison labor, rather than a contractor, will save some money.
