Bragg Jam announces dates for 10th annual festival

The 10th annual Bragg Jam Festival will take place during the latter half of July, organizers announced Thursday.

According to a release, the festival will begin with the second annual Moonlight Miles 5K run on July 18. The musical part of the festival will begin on July 24 with the Patrions’ Kick-Off Party featuring music by the Lee Boys and an auction at the Armory Ballroom.

The Bragg Jam Arts & Kids’ Fest will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 25 along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. The Concert Crawl will begin at 6 p.m., with some 40 live performances scheduled at several venues in Macon.

The festival began 10 years ago as a way to commemorate local musicians Tate and Brax Bragg, who died in a car accident in Texas. Last year, the festival raised a record $45,000, which was donated to benefite the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.
