Monroe County Hospital earns award

FORSYTH — Monroe County Hospital has won a state quality improvement award for the third year in a row.

The Monroe Hospital won second place in the critical access hospital division of the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Patient Safety and Quality award competition for its efforts to reduce patient falls.

The hospital’s director of quality management, Christa Garner said the hospital studied data from 2005 forward to analyze patient falls and implemented new fall precautions in mid 2008.
