The Macon Water Authority reported two spills it cleaned up Friday, both of which affected the Corbin Avenue service basin.
A hydraulic problem at the deadend of Lennox Drive caused 8,800 gallons of sewage to be discharged into Sabbath Creek. Debris was removed from the area and the affected area was disinfected with lime. The second spill also was from a hydraulic problem at the Corbin lift station, which caused 2,600 gallons to be discharged into Bowman Branch. This spill also was cleaned up and the area was disinfected.
The Macon Water Authority said it plans to rehabilitate the Corbin lift station and is continuing its extensive flow monitoring inspection of the basin.
