The Macon-Bibb County Board of Tax Assessors has a warning for property owners: if information about your taxes is not from us, check it out.
It appears at least one private company is using Bibb’s ongoing 2009 revaluation to its advantage and is sending out solicitations offering tax help.
The problem is that some of the land and property value information contained in at least one of the letters, which was faxed to the tax assessors’ office, is incorrect, Chief Appraiser Andrea Crutchfield said at the assessors’ Wednesday meeting.
Property owners can verify values and other information about their property at the tax assessor’s Web site, www.assessors.bibb.ga.us.
