The Jones County Pre-k Center got a $4,000 grant recently to upgrade its playground, according to a news release.
The grant was provided by the Plum Creek Foundation, the largest private landowner in the nation and which manages 24,000 acres of timberland in the Jones County area.
The center, which serves 200 children, plans to buy a new merry go round, a zig zag balance beam and outdoor art easels.
“Since most of the center’s playground equipment was purchased when the center first opened 15 years ago, we are very excited to receive Plum Creek’s grant,” Center coordinator Keisha Pitts said.
