Plenty of Bibb County residents got a head start on their flu vaccinations Monday, the first day of the Macon-Bibb County Health Department's annual flu clinic.
An inside clinic is being held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week, and a drive-through clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
No appointments are necessary for the flu shot, which costs $25. A pneumonia vaccine also is available for $45, but some people may qualify for a reduced price.
Nationally, there's a bountiful supply of the flu vaccine — 143 million to 146 million doses, more than ever before manufactured.
