The arrival of the jolly old elf in Warner Robins will close streets between 9:30 a.m. and noon for the annual Christmas parade Saturday.

At 9:30 a.m., Warner Robins police will shut down South Davis Drive between Martin Luther King Jr. and Watson boulevards as well as Watson Boulevard between South Davis Drive and Pleasant Hill Road, according to a news release.

At 9:45 a.m., Watson will close from Pleasant Hill to North Houston Road. North Houston Road will close from Watson to Green Street.

Bands, floats and marchers will accompany Santa Claus as the parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at McConnell-Talbert Stadium, located at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Davis Drive, and continues to the Houston Health Pavilion, located at North Houston Road and Green Street.

Those needing to reach medical offices on Houston Road can detour on James Street, the release stated.

Eastbound traffic on Watson will be diverted to Corder Road, while westbound vehicles will be detouring to Commercial Circle and North Davis Drive.

In case of an emergency, the Houston Medical Center can be reached by taking Corder Road through neighborhoods to Sunset Drive or Russell Parkway to Pleasant Hill to Sunset.

Officers will be along the route to assist those making detours.
