The announcement that Amazon is bringing a fulfillment center to Macon sent the internet abuzz Tuesday.
Many expressed their excitement for the new 1-million-square-foot facility, which will bring 500 full-time jobs to Bibb County and up to 1,000 during peak season, according to a news release.
With the Macon facility set to be located on Sardis Church and Skipper roads off Interstate 75, some also jokingly asked if the new center could speed up Amazon.com’s delivery to their homes.
The fulfillment center is expected to open in late 2018.
