Woman hit by pickup as she was standing in center lane of Watson Boulevard

A 51-year-old woman was hit by a pickup Wednesday evening in the 1800 block of Watson Boulevard.

Just before 7:45 p.m., Angela Hughes was standing in the center lane near the Chick-fil-A when she was hit by a Nissan Frontier driven by 61-year-old Paul Edrington, according to a news release from the Warner Robins Police Department.

Hughes was alert and talking at the scene near the intersection of Houston Road.

She was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon.

Edrington was headed west on Watson and was trying to turn left from the center lane when he hit Hughes.

There are no street lights in that area and Hughes was not in a crosswalk, the release stated.
