A 20-year-old and her passenger climbed out of a white Honda Fit that was flipped over in a wreck early Thursday evening and resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old man who reportedly ran a stop sign.
Robert Onan, of Macon, is charged with DUI, failure to yield right of way and driving without insurance, Bibb County sheriff’s deputy Clay Williams said.
Onan was at the wheel of a F-150 truck when he ran the stop sign at Riverdale Drive and slammed into the Honda, Williams said.
The impact caused the Honda to overturn, but the woman and her passenger escaped with only minor injuries.
“They all had their seat belts on like they were supposed to,” he said. “They work if you wear them.”
Records show Onan was booked in the Bibb County jail Thursday night and released just before 1 a.m. Friday on a $1,850 bond.
