A gravel truck driver was not seriously hurt Monday afternoon when her vehicle flipped as she avoided another truck that pulled in front of her.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident that happened on Hawkinsville Road at Bartlett Road just before 12:30 p.m.

Witnesses said another truck turned left onto Hawkinsville Road into the path of the gravel truck.

Angela Strickland, 48, slammed on brakes to avoid hitting the truck, but the gravel truck she was driving flipped on its side, scattering pebbles at the corner of Bibb Distributing Co.

The other driver stopped briefly up the road, but then kept going north on Ga. 247.

Anyone with information about the other truck driver or the accident is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
