The Tuesday Morning store in Macon is moving -- but fewer than four miles from its current location.
The chain retailer, which sells discounted home furnishings, small appliances and gifts, plans to move from 4650 Forsyth Road to 265 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd., the former location of Carol’s Linens, said Andy Goldblatt, director of real estate for the Dallas, Texas-based company.
“We just wanted to be in a bigger space,” Goldblatt said.
The store occupies about 7,200 square feet in the Wesleyan Station Shopping Center, adjacent to a Kroger store. It is moving into about 11,000 square feet of space.

“Everything will be new,” he said. “Because it’s so big, it will carry more furniture, including patio furniture, more rugs and more bulky stuff, like luggage.”
The opening of the new store, which should take place this fall, and the closure of the existing store are expected to happen “pretty simultaneously,” he said.
Although a banner on the new location announces the company is now hiring, efforts this week to determine how many employees would be hired were not successful.
Carol’s Linens moved from the Tom Hill location last summer to the Prado shopping center on Forsyth Road.
