Although Macon Beer Co. has been open for a little while, the business is holding its official grand opening this weekend with tours, food and music.
The event will be held 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at 345 Oglethorpe St., according to a news release. For $10, brewery patrons will receive a souvenir pint glass with five tasting tickets. Each ticket can be traded for a 6-ounce pour of a beer of choice. Tours will run about every hour.
For the grand opening, there will be six beers to choose from including a seasonal amber Ale called Macon Movies, in honor of the Macon Film Festival, the release stated. Live music throughout the day will be provided by local band, JC Connection. Also “beer-inspired food” will be available for purchase throughout the day by The Moonhanger Group.
After the grand opening, Macon Beer will continue to be open to the public for tours and tastings 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.
