Macon Beer Co. is open to the general public Saturday for a tour and a taste of its locally made beer.
The tours and beer tastings will be held 1-6 p.m. at 345 Oglethorpe St., according to a news release. Tours and tastings will be held during the same time May 30. The business is expected to hold its official grand opening in early June.
For $10, guests will receive a souvenir Macon Beer Co. pint glass, which includes five tasting tickets. Tickets are redeemed for a 6-ounce pour of a beer of their choice. Beers currently offered are the year-round flagship brew Macon Progress, seasonal ales Macon Love and Macon Homebrew, and a specialty, Progress Squared, that was made especially for the tasting room.
Guests may sit in the brewery’s outside beer garden. Macon Beer Co. merchandise and prints by local artists will be available for purchase.
“We’re excited to reach this milestone,” owner Jeremy Knowles said in the release. “Macon Beer Company’s tours and tastings give us an opportunity to truly connect with our community and provide something so new, we haven’t seen it since Prohibition.”
