Perry has created an incentive program to help small businesses and entrepreneurs with funding needs in the downtown development district.
The Perry Downtown Development Authority is recruiting investors to establish the Boost Investment Group, which would provide grant funds to start ups and small businesses and help infuse capital into downtown, according to a news release.
Investors would donate $100 twice a year to fund the program, and the money would go into a fund maintained by the authority. Twice a year -- or once a quarter after program support allows -- the investors will review grant requests and decide who will receive grants and the amount, the release stated. The grants would be awarded in $100 increments with a maximum award of $1,000.
The authority is looking for at least a two-year commitment from investment group members, and there is no limit on the number of investors accepted into the program.
