The thrift store operated by volunteers for The Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon has moved.
The Tags of Hope Thrift Shoppe moved recently from The Methodist Home campus on Pierce Avenue to 3342 Vineville Ave. and will celebrate its grand opening at 9 a.m. Friday, according to a news release.
The thrift store, which was located in the basement of Peabody Memorial building, “outgrew its humble beginnings in the fall of last year,” the release stated.
Through a grant with the Pitts Foundation and a partnership with the business department at Wesleyan College, Tags of Hope began to take shape, and the process of finding a new space began, the release stated.
The shop moved into the former Crate store space, which allows for more inventory. The store carries name brand clothing items, home décor, books and furniture. It is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and its phone number is 478-254-2489.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the store go to support the children and youth in the care of The Methodist Home.
