Workshop in Fort Valley to help farmers apply for grants

Farmers who need extra funding have an opportunity to learn about applying for federal grants.

The University of Georgia Extension is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to host a workshop to help farmers apply for grants through the USDA’s Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion programs, according to a news release.

The grant application process can be daunting, but the funds can help farmers diversify their farms or make them more sustainable or profitable.

The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. April 23 at Fort Valley State University.

It is free to attend, but there is a limit of 50 participants per workshop. Visit http://tinyurl.com/ugagrants for more information or to register.
