Business 1 on 1 with Deanna Rivers

Deanna Rivers, owner, Abreanne’s LLC, 150 S. Houston Lake Rd, Suite 700, Warner Robins, 478-832-1462. Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

How long have you been in business?: Rivers said it was hard to say when she started her business because “I’ve pretty much sold stuff all my life.”

Rivers worked in the accounting field from 1982 to 2013, becoming a certified public accountant in 1998. Two years ago, she left her job at Hephzibah Children’s Home to open a store.

“Pretty much all my life, I’ve sold stuff out of the trunk of my car. I started out doing direct sales, right out of high school. I did Tupperware,” and several other home-based businesses. “It just evolved into doing fun girly things,” Rivers said. She opened the store, which is named after her daughter, Alicia Breanne.

What do you like best about your job?: “I guess to go shopping for other people. ... I like helping people pick out something to wear. ... I tell people honestly what it looks like.”

What is your specialty?: “We’re a fun girly stuff store. ... We carry anything a woman would want.” The store has clothing, size small to 3X, shoes, jewelry, handbags, wine glasses and some gift items for little girls.

What are your future plans?: “Hopefully staying open ... I want to continue to grow our customer base.”
