Angie Martin has been named the new president and CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce.
She replaces April Bragg, who left in November to head the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce, according to a Tuesday news release. Lyn Chandler has been leading the Milledgeville-Baldwin chamber in the interim.
Martin, a Baldwin High School graduate, was chosen from more than 20 applicants reviewed by the selection committee. Her “professionalism and past work experience” made her a unanimous choice, the release states. The chamber board expects her to look at the organization, review its current status and provide board members with a plan to move forward.
Martin graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts in 2003. She has more than 10 years of on-site and executive multi-family property management experience, the release states.
Most recently, she served as area director for Atlanta-based The Worthing Companies. There, she managed a portfolio of more than 1,400 units and 30 staff members throughout the Southeast. She focused on property supervision and operations, financial preparations and marketing efforts, the release states.
Martin is active in the Milledgeville community. She is a member and sings in the choir at Milledgeville First United Methodist Church. She also has acted in local productions with the Milledgeville Players.
She is married to Philip Martin and has one step-son, Trent.
