Macon’s newest bank is open and ready to do business.
OneSouth Bank, a division of the Bank of Early based in Blakely, has opened a full-service bank at 4070 Forsyth Road, said Randy Griffin, executive vice president of the Bank of Early and regional president of OneSouth Bank.
Prior to opening this bank, the Bank of Early had had a loan production office on Bass Road since September 2011.
Although the bank opened Jan. 26, it is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday.
The building on Forsyth, which was the former location of Central Bank of Georgia and then Ameris Bank, has three drive-thru lanes and one ATM lane, which “also takes deposits,” Griffin said.
Four employees in the lending office transferred to the new bank office, and “we’ve hired five more employees,” he said. “So we have a team of experienced bankers to run our bank here.”
OneSouth Financial Inc., the holding company for OneSouth Bank, has a Georgia charter for the Bank of Early with bank branches in Blakely, Dawson and Arlington, and a Florida bank charter for OneSouth Bank in Chipley, Florida.
