What’s open, what’s not for New Year’s Day

Banks: American Pride Bank, Bank of America, BB&T, Capital City Bank, CB&T Bank of Middle Georgia, CertusBank, Colony Bank, Heritage Bank of the South, MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union, Robins Federal Credit Union, State Bank and Trust Bank, SunMark Community Bank, SunTrust Bank and Wells Fargo will be closed Thursday.

Government offices: Offices for the cities of Byron, Centerville, Forsyth, Fort Valley, Gray, Jeffersonville and Perry as well as offices for Crawford, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties will be closed Thursday. Offices for the city of Warner Robins and Houston County will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Division of Family and Children Services, the Labor Department and state courts will be closed Thursday. Federal courts will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Mail delivery: No delivery Thursday.

Garbage: Garbage routes in the cities of Byron, Centerville, Fort Valley, Perry and Warner Robins as well as in Crawford, Houston and Peach counties and the former unincorporated Bibb County will not run Thursday and will be delayed by a day through Saturday. Garbage routes in Macon’s former city limits will not run Thursday but will run Friday.

Libraries: The libraries in Houston and Peach counties will be closed Thursday. The Middle Georgia Regional Library and its branches will be closed Thursday.
