The unemployment rate dropped in Macon and Warner Robins for November.
Metro Macon’s rate last month was 6.9 percent, down from 7.6 percent in October, according to a Georgia Department of Labor news release. The rate in November 2013 also was 7.6 percent.
Macon added 1,200 new jobs in November, up from 99,700 in October. There were 663 new claims filed for unemployment insurance in November, down from 1,110 in October.
Metro Warner Robins’ unemployment rate for November was 6.3 percent, down from 6.9 percent in October. The rate in November 2013 was 6.4 percent.
Warner Robins added 100 new jobs from October to November, pushing the total to 58,800. There were 292 new claims filed for unemployment insurance in November, down from 507 in October.
Metro Athens had the lowest area jobless rate at 5.0 percent, while the Heart of Georgia-Altamaha region had the highest at 9.0 percent.
