Amedisys Home Health named as top agency
Amedisys Home Health of Macon was named a Top Agency of the 2014 HomeCare Elite, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the U.S. Now in its ninth year, HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of agencies and further highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.
Winners are ranked by an analysis of quality outcomes, best practice implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency and financial performance.

TD Bank has named Daniel ‘Danny’ Smith as vice president, senior loan officer in health care finance, based in Macon. He is responsible for growing and managing a portfolio comprised of health care clients, primarily acute care hospitals in Florida and Georgia.
Smith has 29 years of experience in banking, lending and healthcare finance. Prior to joining TD Bank, he served as a regional corporate banker at BB&T Corp. in Macon.
TD Bank is based in Canada and the closest bank location is in South Carolina. The Toronto-Dominion Bank and its subsidiaries are collectively known as TD Bank Group.
Coliseum adds program for forensic nurse examiners
Coliseum Medical Centers is the first in Bibb County to offer a forensic nurse examiners program. These health care professionals have more than 80 hours of additional training and knowledge of forensics and the legal system to become sexual assault nurse examiners.
Additionally, the forensic nurse examiners program collaborates with several local agencies and programs that provide free and specialized services to patients of sexual assault. In addition to their training in sexual assaults, the forensic nurse examiners at Coliseum Medical Centers also see patients involved in domestic violence and abuse of the elderly.

Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health was recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for hospital-based inpatient psychiatric services.
The top performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, stroke, venous thromboembolism and perinatal care, as well as for inpatient psychiatric services.
Robins Federal announces quarterly manager, employees
Robins Federal Credit Union recognizes employees each quarter from three categories: manager, support department staff and branch staff. They are selected by management and written recommendations from their peers.
For the third quarter, Steve Evans, the manager of Robins Federal’s indirect lending department, won the manager category. He has been employed by Robins for 15 years.
Alex Poole of the marketing department is a direct marketing specialist for Robins Federal. He has been employed with Robins Federal Credit Union for more than two years.
Donna Ray, a member service representative in the downtown branch, has been employed by Robins Federal for two years.
