A Wal-Mart in Macon is adding a primary health care clinic inside the store next week.
The Wal-Mart at 6020 Harrison Road is opening a Care Clinic on Sept. 19 as part of a pilot program, according to a news release. The clinic will operate 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
“The Wal-Mart Care Clinic is creating a new price position for retail health services that aims to give our associates and customers greater access to quality, affordable health care that will improve lives,” the release stated.
For most employees and their families who are on a Wal-Mart health plan, an office visit to the Care Clinic will cost $4. An office visit for customers will cost $40. Licensed nurse practitioners will staff the clinic.
