How long have you been in business?: “I started off teaching in day care centers, and I had students who wanted to continue with me after they left day care, so I opened up a studio.”
She taught dance for what is now Clayton State University for 14 years in an off-campus facility. She moved from Clayton County to Monroe County about 10 years ago and continued teaching from her Clayton County studio until she opened one in Forsyth about four years ago. Brown has been in business for 32 years.
What do you like best about your job?: “When the children get excited about their accomplishments in dance and seeing their self-confidence build.”

What is your specialty?: Teaching younger children about 3 to 8 years old in tap, ballet, jazz, baton and tumbling. She also teaches clogging to children from about 10 to 16 years old for performance team dancing. Some of the younger children she teaches also do tap and jazz on performance teams. She also has helped girls with pageant training.
“I’m still working with a blind gentlemen. I’ve been teaching him to dance for several years.”
What are your future plans?: Brown said she doesn’t have plans to change anything for now.
