Credit union offers free document shredding

For anyone who has documents that need shredding, Thursday and Friday are the days to do it.

Robins Federal Credit Union is hosting its semi-annual Shred Day to help protect against identity theft, according to a news release.

A shredding truck, provided by Cintas Document Management, will be at the Warner Robins branch at 803 Watson Blvd., from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday and at 5999 Zebulon Road in Macon, from noon-4 p.m. Friday.

People are encouraged to take any sensitive information, such as receipts, financial statements and documents containing personal information to be shredded.

Also, Cintas will present an environmental awareness award to the credit union at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Warner Robins branch, the release stated.

The shredding events are free to the public.
