Faces and Places: Davidson elected to national board of directors

Amy Davidson, CVA, director of youth programs at Volunteer Macon, has been elected to the national board of directors of Youth Volunteer Corps of America. Launched in 1987, YVC affiliates are located in 31 states and Canada and work to engage youth in challenging and rewarding volunteer service.

Foulkes received Georgia Southern alumnus award

Dr. Guy D. Foulkes received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2009 given by the Department of Biology at Georgia Southern University. Foulkes, a member of the Class of 1984, was past president of the Georgia Hand Society and Bibb County Medical Society. He is currently the Medical Association of Georgia’s representative to the Georgia Orthopaedic Society and chief of hand surgery at The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Foulkes also is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at Mercer University Medical School.

Home builder awards announced

The Lake Oconee Builders Association has announced its awards for Builder of the Year. They include Daniel A. Jones Inc., Remodel of the Year. The award for $500,000 and below as Dreambuilt Inc.; $500,000-$1,500,000 was Camden Homes; and award for $1,500,000 and above was Duke Development. The People’s Choice Award was presented to Kokopelli Homes.
