The Rookery is back and bigger than ever.

With the completion of its expansion and renovation project, the downtown Macon restaurant is celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, according to a news release.

The restaurant temporarily closed for two weeks this summer while work was being done to double the size of its kitchen space. The restaurant reopened shortly after as Phase 2 and 3 were completed to expand the eatery to include The Creek FM, Macon’s local Americana radio station.

The new renovations to the 533 Cherry Street location include a larger kitchen, 3,000 square feet of additional dining space and the new addition of The Creek Stage.

Representatives from owners the Moonhanger Group, The Creek FM and Main Street Macon will speak about the impact of The Rookery’s expansion on downtown Macon during the ceremony set for 4:45 p.m.
