Georgia Farm Bureau Federation announces winners

The Georgia Farm Bureau Federation recognized state award winners at its 79th annual convention.

Marla Garnto received the Georgia Agriculture in the Classroom 2016 Teacher of the Year award. Garnto is an elementary teacher at Northside Elementary School in Warner Robins.

A.J. Bacon of Laurens county won the 2016 Georgia Farm Bureau Quality Hay contest.

Skye Gess of Hancock county was recognized as the Georgia Farm Bureau Young Farmer Discussion Meet winner and will attend the AFBF Convention in Phoenix.

Mitchell joins Fickling and Co. residential office

Nicole Mitchell recently joined the Fickling and Co. residential office as a new Realtor. Mitchell is a lifetime resident of Middle Georgia.

Planters First Bank wins Business of the Month

The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce recognized Planters First Bank as the December Business of the Month. The bank was nominated and chosen by the chamber’s Business Development Committee.
