B&D vice president receives industry award; new board members named at River Edge

B&D Industrial vice president receives award

Linda Miller, vice president of information technology at B&D Industrial headquartered in Macon, received the Wendy B. McDonald Award from the Power Transmission Distributors Association. The award honors women who have established themselves as critical contributors to their company's success while affecting positive change within the transmission/motion control industry.

Miller started her career at B&D Industrial, then called Bearings and Drives, as a clerk and typist in 1975. She has worked on various committees within the Bearing Specialists Association and has served on the board of directors and as president.

Two appointed to River Edge Behavioral Health Center

Residents Martie Brown and Rosalind McMillan were appointed by the Monroe County Commission to the governing board of River Edge Behavioral Health Center.

Brown is the owner of ReMax First Advantage Real Estate and founded The Club to give community opportunities to young adults with developmental disabilities.

McMillan is a retired vice president of Population Health at Navicent Health.

Perry Lions Club adds two new members

Daniel Harvill and Kristen Driggers were inducted as centennial members in the Perry Lions Club, frequently known as Knights of the Blind. The Lions Club focuses on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired and on hearing by arranging screenings, recreational camps for the deaf and hearing aid recycling programs for children and adults.

Perry Area Chamber of Commerce gives award

Daniel Harvill also received the Diplomat of the Quarter award from the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to the member who has stood out in their diplomatic service to the chamber and the local business community. Harvill is an insurance agent with Alfa Insurance in Perry.
