Indictment: Bottle strike caused Macon man’s skull to fracture

Bibb County grand jurors indicted a 30-year-old Macon man Tuesday on allegations he struck another man in the head, causing a skull fracture and bleeding on his brain.

Stanley Eugene Baker is charged with aggravated assault and giving false information to law enforcement, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court Tuesday.

Baker allegedly struck 51-year-old William Hart with a liquor bottle on Nov. 23, 2010, in the 2100 block of Lowe Street in Macon, according to the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office.

In June 2011, Baker allegedly gave a Macon police detective a false name, misleading the officer about his identity, according to the indictment.

Baker is being held at the Bibb County jail. He additionally is charged with obstruction, misdemeanor marijuana possession and a probation violation, according to jail records.
