WARNER ROBINS -- A nationwide store has launched a rescue and runways campaign to benefit local animal shelters such as the one operated by Warner Robins Animal Control.
Maurices stores, including the one in The Galleria mall in Centerville, are collecting and donating pet supplies. The supplies gathered at the mall store will benefit the Warner Robins facility, police said. Donations are being collected the month of September.
Warner Robins Animal Control needs leashes, collars, food bowls, plastic litter plans, dish detergent, animal shampoo, Dawn dish soap, liquid hand soap, disinfectant spray, cardboard pet carries, bleach and only dry dog and cat food.
Also, a Rescues and Runways Fashion Show is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the mall in which clothing from Maurices will be featured. Models are expected to also sport a large photo of adotable animals, with some of those pets expected to at a mobile site set up outside in the parking lot, said Karen Mosley, assistant store manager at Maurices in the mall.
